Wallpaper: Corners and Polygons

Hooray! It's my tenth post since the Template change! Today's been a great day, as I've been abnormally productive all day and managed to find myself going through around 7 eigths of the 'New to Google Sketchup' Tutorials, which was both satisfyingly tedious and blood-bitingly aggravating at times.

In other me-related news, I have also completed another wallpaper titled 'corners and polygons' (and pictured below) and it has been uploaded to the Wallpaper section under Miscellaneous. Yay!
I think I went quite overboard with the blur filter, though. (:

New Photo Album Published!

Link's been uploaded to the 'Art' section under Miscellaneous. All too exciting except that I have had no training whatsoever in terms of digital photography. Yawn. More details in my last post.

Digital Cameras and Living Rubble

I went out to shop for a new watch today and managed to walk past the scene of one of the most devastating building-collapses in several decades without even knowing. (For your information, my previous watch only costed me around $30 Hong Kong, but broke in a month, so what you pay for is what you get, I suppose - but that's not relevant, read on.) It was kinda sad, really - All my dad and I ever saw was a whole troupe of police cars, building trucks, ambulances and firetrucks parked onto the road, and everybody else staring off into the middle distance. I think it might've been a trick of the light, but I swear I saw a man with dried blood caked all over his face as he walked past us talking on his phone.

On a slightly less morbid note, I did manage to borrow my dad's camera on the long walk home from TST to Hung Hom after dinner and managed to take a few improvised shots of the urban nightscape, which should finish uploading in a bit. I'm rather happy with how it turned out actually - seeing as I have no photo-taking experience whatsoever- and to tell the truth, I needed something to take my mind off the Hung Hom Incident and the utter screw-up that was GCSE Mock Group Performance today...

You can learn anything online.

I'm officially starting my Google Sketchup lessons as of today, and I have to say, it's a pretty impressive piece of software for something that's free- (All the more fitting that I'm using Google's blogging service to type this.) Which was quite nice following the utter confusion that came with the release of Google Wave.

I really don't know what reasons I have for learning this, really, but heck, I've gone on with the few startup tutorials Google has conveniently hosted on their Sketchup homepage and I made a chair today, so screw motiveless learning.

It was certainly better than that copy of CounterStrike:Source I torrented today. Just setting the damn thing up took me upwards of an hour, and I didn't even get any kicks shooting anyone too, unlike making that chair in sketchup today.

Oh, and I've decided to host my files at Imageshack now - Need to conserve my Dropbox space. And anyway, they've redesigned the webpage now, so it'll be less of a painful experience using their bulk uploader.

Triond Referrals Program Goes Online - Make money writing articles and have fun in the process.

It's not often I'll beg people for stuff, but I would really appreciate it if anybody interested in Triond would join via this referral link. I'm aiming to make way more than twenty cents a day.

I'm saving up for something nice :\

Fabulous App Notifications are Fabulous.

"Celebrate Australia Day And Burns Night In Pet Society! All kinds of Scottish and Australian fun in the shops! [Play Now!] 06:22" - Notification from Pet Society (I don't play it anymore, btw, so no pokes at my masculinity please.)

I missed the days when apps were less subtle. Where once you flicked on TVB you'd immediately be bombarded by fat businessmen screaming out reasons why their product will completely kick the butt of any single business competitor within twenty hundred miles of their region

Nowadays, it's all just a "Here are the advantages, here are advantages of my competitors' products, now pretty please buy ours or we might just smother a kitten"-sort-of type.

Of course, now and then we still get some exceptions, like this app notification I found today:

I'm surprised they managed to pull it off without even touching the formatting buttons.

"Fan Graffiti" What? "Fan Graffiti". No reasons why, just do it. Fan the god-forsaken app for goodness' sakes. Who cares what you think? FAN GRAFFITTI. FAN! GRAFFITI! @#%ING! DAMMIT!

Sigh (: I love the Interwebs.

Twitter and Music

You're going to hear a lot more about how I've been changing the website, I'm afraid (sadface).

But let's not talk about boring matters like that and cut straight to the point - Thanks to this awesome tutorial I've found online, I have managed, after a fairly sizable amount of difficulty, to not only find a way to embed a nice little flash player on the Music page, but also found one that actually fits the look and feel of the website! How exciting.

The music's not particularily good, compared to normal person's standards, but hell, I made it, and I'm handing it in for Music GCSE Mocks, and woe betide the one who shall stop me.

Oh, and I, er. Have a twitter now. I have to admit, I never would've gotten it on any other day, but a mixture of boredom and curiousity just got the better of me today.

Yippee. ><

I found a typo!

Finding a typo in an actual mass-mailed leaflet of a Hong Kong food chain is quite surprising...

I haz a grammar! ^^

It kinda makes sense in a way... in stereotypic Chinese terms. A 1295-dollar meal may leave twenty whole grown Chinese people full, but when it comes to Gwailos, one shall only be content once he has eaten a hole out of his partner's wallet.

Templates and Sketchup

Now that exams are over, I shall be getting to work on cleaning up this horrid blogger template and replacing all the pre-made images with my own. Depending if D201 ICT gets in the way, of course (:
In other news, I've just gotten Google Sketchup and am browsing through the tutorial videos ^^ Going to be fun.

Exams

Hi guys,
Would just like you to know that I have mocks until Friday the 29th, and I shall be very busy until then.
Oh what a shame.
